Mother Nature is on fire! From the deadly storm Ketsana (Typhoon Ondoy) which left the country [Philippines] more than 200 people dead and a number missing, a new fury has been again observed as the victims of the tsunami were swept across the South Pacific. More than 100 people were killed and entire villages were destroyed despite the massive emergency warning last Wednesday in the Samoan Islands.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the victims had only minutes to escape the deadly waves and in some cases did not receive alerts of danger, despite years of work to upgrade early-warning systems across the region.

A massive 8.0 magnitude earthquake caused three 5-foot tsunamis that hit the South Pacific islands Tuesday.

Authorities warned that the death toll could rise significantly over the next few days as rescue workers began reaching remote areas.
